Vina Cantaluna > Colchagua Valley > Chile
Viña Cantaluna's winery, a high-tech winemaking plant, is located 92 miles south of Santiago, at Chimbarongo city, Colchagua Valley. The modern cellar was built between the years 1999 and 2003 but the owners have old vineyards throughout the best regions of Chile. Most of the wines come from the Colchagua Valley (with varied soil types and excellent microclimates) except for the Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir which come from the cooler Casablanca Valley. Only the best 20% of their vineyards go into their bottlings.

Cantaluna Winery was formed by a group of friends who, putting together their passion for the Colchagua Valley, the grapes and the wine, decided to form a society where each of them could contribute with their own experience and business knowledge, and whose objective was to develop high quality wines that would be internationally recognized. The winery is rooted in the earth and traditions of the Colchagua area. Its icon, inspired by the goddess of the moon - a central deity in Chilean mythology - symbolizes the soul of the Andes. The wines are expressions of each varietal. They are pleasant to drink and offer soft and mature tannins on the palate, as well as long, pleasing finishes.

Chardonnay
The vineyards are located in the Colchagua Valley, in Central Chile - one of South America's most promising wine regions. At the foothills of the Andes, they benefit from cool breezes that allow a slow maturation, resulting in wines with greater aromatic complexity. This Chardonnay is fermented at low temperatures, with stirring of the lees post fermentation. 5% new oak barrels.
A crisp wine with aromas of pineapple, melon and ripe apricots, combined with a touch of citrus and essences of caramel and vanilla. Fresh and fruity on the palate.

Shiraz
The vineyards are located in the Colchagua Valley, in Central Chile - one of South America's most promising wine regions. At the foothills of the Andes, they benefit from cool breezes that allow a slow maturation, resulting in wines with greater aromatic complexity.

Pinot Noir
The vineyards are located in the Central Valley (El Valle Central) of Chile, a large wine region stretching from the Maipo Valley (just south of Santiago) to the southern end of the Maule Valley. They enjoy foggy mornings and cooling breezes coming from the Pacific Ocean, which allow the grapes to slowly mature, resulting in wines with greater aromatic complexity.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 25º and 28ºC. The wine is then aged in French and American oak barrels. A fruity and elegant red with hints of fresh red fruits and a delicate touch of oak.
