Bodegas Henri Lurton > Baja California > Mexico
Bodegas Henri Lurton is born from an adventure that links France to Mexico. Henri Lurton, owner of the Grand Cru Classé Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, with the support of his eldest sons, Vincent and Nicolas, placed a confident bid on Baja California - convinced of its winemaking potential, the warmth of its people and the generosity of the land.

After working for almost 10 years at Château Brane-Cantenac, winemaker Lourdes Martinez Ojeda returned to her hometown of Ensenada to bridge the divide between France and Mexico. Her first vintage was 2015; her wines seek to faithfully convey the terroir. Total production is 1,500 to 2,000 cases.

Farming practices: sustainable.

Le Chenin
100% Chenin Blanc. The fruit is purchased from vineyards in Valle San Vicente; south of Ensenada. Pneumatic press for a gentle extraction of aromas and color without oxidation. Fermented and aged at low temperatures in Apollo Flextanks. The porous polymers allow for a passage of oxygen equivalent to the contribution of a new barrel, bringing texture and character to the wine, while respecting the fruit aromas. Rich bouquet of peaches, fresh apricots and white flowers with a touch of acacia honey. Nice round palate with a well balanced acidity. A generous yet delicate wine. 250 cases produced.
