Tsukinokatsura was established in 1675 in Fushimi, one of the eleven wards in the city of Kyoto, in Kyoto Prefecture. Mr Masuda Tokubee is the 14th generation owner, and an ardent defender of tradition. His artisanal sake is acclaimed for its high quality aromas. Mr Masuda Keiichi, father of Tsukinokatsura’s current president, started a sake revolution with the commercialization of aged sake "Koshu 古酒” and the reintroduction in 1964 of nigori sake, forbidden for more than 200 years. He discovered a new technique that allowed for the standards set by the government. |
